Alma 29:9,10
I know that which the Lord hath cammanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy; then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.

Best Week of Teaching So Far

It is so exciting to me to see what can be accomplished with obedience, hard work and the help of the Lord. In an area where there is a 98% member ratio it is great that the members and missionaries are doing such a great job finding those that need to hear the gospel message. Great job guys.

Hey Everyone!

This week was so great! Not even kidding best week of teaching that we have had in Alpine so far! We found 5 new investigators and have 6 people on date for baptism now and we taught a total of 20 lessons! We have had some major help this week from the guy upstairs and it has been so cool to see! Not to mention we also picked up a couple investigators who were being taught in the past so our teaching pool of regular investigators is at like 15+ now! I don’t think anyone was expecting that for this area considering how dense it is in Mormons already but, man Elder Brannock and I are pretty happy about it!

As far as cool lessons this week we taught this girl Lindsey (the one who wanted to try out for playboy) twice this week, and the lessons were so good! She has recently given up smoking and our first lesson we kind of just talked to her and told her that we have high hopes for her and want her to be baptized. She kind of lit up when we talked about this and just seemed so happy for the rest of the lesson. We taught her again just the other day and taught about the plan of salvation. She received the lesson very well up until the kingdoms of Glory. She had a hard time accepting this truth, and I think the only reason why is because her anti-LDS friends bash this doctrine the most. We challenged her to pray about it and talked about praying with sincerity and she committed to do it! So I'm really hoping that she will soften her heart and just be humble and submissive to the answers she receives.

Also this week we got a call from a family who kind of has a yours, mine & ours situation. And I guess the Dad's two oldest sons never had the opportunity to be baptized because his ex wife would never let them despite the fact that they have been going to church every week and they love it! I guess recently the ex wife released her custody to the dad so we are teaching these kids this week and baptizing them this upcoming Saturday! They are so excited and it was awesome to see the joy in their faces as we extended the invitation to them! They have been waiting for some time and it was just a unique experience to witness that. It helped me kind of picture how baptisms for the dead are received.

We had some great lessons with Edith and Ashley this week and they are both progressing very well, and are both excited for their baptism in 2 weeks! And we also have been teaching this 9 year old girl named Megan Hill who is doing awesome! Her baptism is in 2 weeks as well! She is the cutest little girl with the most awesome family! She has a bunch of brothers and sisters who are all very rambunctious, but despite the rowdiness we have still been able to have some really great lessons!

Anyways, things are just awesome here in Alpine.
I will add a few p-day photos that arrived here. Things are good in Alpine and enjoying a p-day qualifies as good don't you think?

I love you guys! Thanks for all of the support! Miss you tons and will talk to you soon!

Utah Provo Mission Map
From Wyomings boarder to the four corners and into Colorado and Arizona there is work to do.

A little history of the UTAH, PROVO MISSION

In the late 1970's there was only one mission in Utah. As the work grew the mission was divided into areas to cover the North and South of the state. On January 1, 1989 the Utah, Provo mission was formed from a division of the Salt Lake City North and South missions. President Magnusson was called to open the mission. Today President Neil Pitts serves as President.

The area the mission currently covers was for the most part in the former Utah, Salt Lake City South Mission. During the time President Humphreys lead the mission, it was expanded to include Blanding, Monticello and Montezuma Creek. At this point the mission area took in all of Utah south of the Uintah Mountians.

With the creation of the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission the northern area of the mission was altered slightly. In addition Panaca and Mesquite Nevada were moved to the Nevada, Las Vegas Mission.

On July 1, 2010 the Utah Provo Mission was divided again. In this split the Utah, St George Mission was created. There are a large number on non-members that live in the St. George area and more are moving in. As you can see from the map below the Utah, Provo Mission will cover a realtively small area but there will still be much work to do.
