Alma 29:9,10
I know that which the Lord hath cammanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy; then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.

Emma is baptized

Work, precious work...... When I read this paragraph I was moved. As I went to my missionary meeting and visits this week I felt impressed to speak up. We are all member missionaries and we are not working to our potential. As I sat looking at the missionaries serving in our ward I felt sad. These young men want to teach and baptize just as Landon is. Their families are sacrificing to have them serve. We as the general membership of the ward need to do better in finding people for them to teach. I need to do better and so do others. Teaching 5 lessons in 3 hours should be the problem of all of our missionaries.

Hey!

So this week was amazing! Elder Allan and I had one of our busiest weeks thus far. And this next week I think it will only get busier as we are planning to have 4 baptisms this next Saturday. And we are starting off the week with 5 lessons in 3 hours tonight. It’s going be a great week!

But as for this last week... It was just too good to be true!

Emma’s Baptism was amazing, as expected! The spirit was so strong and I just have a love for this girl that emulates the love of the savior. It was almost like I felt a portion of what God feels for his children when I brought her back out of the waters of baptism. And having experiences like that just make me shake at the thought of allowing sin to enter into my life.

What a sweet sweet moment this is for Hal and I as parents. I know our Father in Heaven must be full of joy as well. It is so cool to have Landon experience this mighty change of heart and countenance as he witnesses the same in those he teaches. I love the Lord and the Spirit we have to guide our lives. It will be a life time blessing for Landon to understand so clearly the language of the Spirit.
Emma's baptism brought me back to the feelings I had at Edith's baptism and I know that the conversion of these girls will be a strength to me and my own testimony for the rest of my life. I want to forever be worthy to call myself their missionary. And I know that might sound cheezy, but I don’t care. I just want to be good. I want to be a strength to those around me at all times and in all places. And I’m so grateful that the mission has confirmed this desire within me.

As for the rest of the week it went very well. We had some great lessons and in many of the lessons this week I just felt like my lips were moving but the spirit was the one speaking. I love that! And I don’t know what I was doing different this week, but it was just a week of great lessons!

Landon has always been a guy that enjoyed good food. He has a place on the palate for favorites like Italian food and Asian food. It is fun to see him have the opportunity to try some good international dining right there in Provo. He would really enjoy this so I thank Gyu Pong for his generosity.

I also got to try Korean food this week. One of our investigators Gyu Pong took my comp and I out to this really authentic Korean restaurant. And he ordered all the traditional dishes for us and it was so good! We had one type of tofu soup and another Kimchi soup and this really good beef lettuce wrap thing! It was amazing!

Anyways, that is great that Donovan’s wedding turned out so well! I still can’t believe that he is married. That is awesome! That is funny that they actually did the whole cardboard cut out thing too!

The cardboard cutout was amazing. It did feel like Landon was standing there. When we arrived at the cousins house we were giving hugs and I looked beyond the person I was hugging and there he was standing there. I just wanted to talk to him. The followoing day when we arrived at the wedding there Landon was standing behind the podium reading to officiate. It was funny to me as Landon had gone on-line when he was a young man and filed paperwork to legally officiate for California weddings. Now here he is standing ready to do the job. The irony is he is actually today an authorized minister of Jesus Christ. Life is funny. Landon stood right by Donovan as his best man, he stood by the head table overseeing the dining, he was part of the groomsman dance off, and he was there for the garter toss. Thankfully he did not catch it as he has work to do. As fun as the wedding was I am thankful Landon is where he is, doing the work he is doing, and growing to become the man he will be to lead his own family.

Utah Provo Mission Map
From Wyomings boarder to the four corners and into Colorado and Arizona there is work to do.

A little history of the UTAH, PROVO MISSION

In the late 1970's there was only one mission in Utah. As the work grew the mission was divided into areas to cover the North and South of the state. On January 1, 1989 the Utah, Provo mission was formed from a division of the Salt Lake City North and South missions. President Magnusson was called to open the mission. Today President Neil Pitts serves as President.

The area the mission currently covers was for the most part in the former Utah, Salt Lake City South Mission. During the time President Humphreys lead the mission, it was expanded to include Blanding, Monticello and Montezuma Creek. At this point the mission area took in all of Utah south of the Uintah Mountians.

With the creation of the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission the northern area of the mission was altered slightly. In addition Panaca and Mesquite Nevada were moved to the Nevada, Las Vegas Mission.

On July 1, 2010 the Utah Provo Mission was divided again. In this split the Utah, St George Mission was created. There are a large number on non-members that live in the St. George area and more are moving in. As you can see from the map below the Utah, Provo Mission will cover a realtively small area but there will still be much work to do.
