Alma 29:9,10
I know that which the Lord hath cammanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy; then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.

A Birthday Baptism

Landon had a great birthday!! Can you imagine anything better as a missionary than having someone you love be baptized into the family of God. What a great gift.
But yeah this week was awesome! Thanks for all the Birthday stuff! I love those ties you sent! (The ties were from Kiera and Joe. It was stated in the package but just like on Christmas I guess the tags get overlooked.) And yeah it was just everything I needed!

The baptism went great and Cory was so ready!

I love this guy and am so happy that we were able to help him and his wife come closer to our Heavenly Father! And as for the rest of my Birthday... It was awesome! I think we had a lesson scheduled for every hour during the day and then the baptism and then more lessons. And I couldn’t have asked for anything more than the super productive day that we had!

The rest of the week was really good as well! We taught a lot of really good lessons this week! I was also able to have my interview with President Pitts for the quarter! And that was awesome! I was able to go through some of my patriarchal blessing with him and it really helped me to understand all of the blessings that Heavenly Father has in store for me! I can’t wait to live the rest of my life! Also we had a leadership training meeting on Tuesday and President decided to kind of scrap the training and expound on the doctorine of the restoration and the priesthood! And WOW! It was such a treat! Like my testimony has grown a ton and I already thought it was pretty strong. He just explained everything about the restoration of the church so clearly and the line he kept on using throughout the day was "now do you really think Joseph Smith could have made all this up?" And the answer is NO, Never! There is NO way that Joseph Smith could have just written the Book of Mormon, or the Doctrine and Covenants etc. The History of this church is amazing and correlates with the prophesies and teachings of the Bible Perfectly! There is no other explanation, than Joseph Smith was a prophet and this Church is the restored church of Christ!

Utah Provo Mission Map

Utah Provo Mission Map
From Wyomings boarder to the four corners and into Colorado and Arizona there is work to do.

A little history of the UTAH, PROVO MISSION

In the late 1970's there was only one mission in Utah. As the work grew the mission was divided into areas to cover the North and South of the state. On January 1, 1989 the Utah, Provo mission was formed from a division of the Salt Lake City North and South missions. President Magnusson was called to open the mission. Today President Neil Pitts serves as President.

The area the mission currently covers was for the most part in the former Utah, Salt Lake City South Mission. During the time President Humphreys lead the mission, it was expanded to include Blanding, Monticello and Montezuma Creek. At this point the mission area took in all of Utah south of the Uintah Mountians.

With the creation of the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission the northern area of the mission was altered slightly. In addition Panaca and Mesquite Nevada were moved to the Nevada, Las Vegas Mission.

On July 1, 2010 the Utah Provo Mission was divided again. In this split the Utah, St George Mission was created. There are a large number on non-members that live in the St. George area and more are moving in. As you can see from the map below the Utah, Provo Mission will cover a realtively small area but there will still be much work to do.
